Douglas Hoeft
Scholarship Foundation

Eligibility

Students eligible for the Douglas Hoeft Scholarship must be a High School graduate or High School equivalent entering an accredited college or university as a Freshman in their first semester. Eligible students include public, private, parochial, home schooled and high school equivalent. Graduates must currently reside and have graduated from a school district within the Kane County Educational Service Region:

  • District U-46 Elgin
  • District 101 Batavia
  • District 129 Aurora West
  • District 131 Aurora East
  • District 300 Dundee
  • District 301 Central
  • District 302 Kaneland
  • District 303 St. Charles
  • District 304 Geneva

Applicants must submit the below information for consideration. Please submit using the directions on the How to Apply page.

  • Signed application form
  • Class rank (if applicable)
  • Verification of residence (determined by a current driver’s license or State of Illinois ID)
  • A copy of ACT/SAT scores (Total score, Language score, Mathematics score)
  • A list of extra/co-curricular activities and a description of community service experiences
  • An essay on the topic “What are my challenges and how do I overcome them”
  • Two letters of recommendation
