Eligibility
Students eligible for the Douglas Hoeft Scholarship must be a High School graduate or High School equivalent entering an accredited college or university as a Freshman in their first semester. Eligible students include public, private, parochial, home schooled and high school equivalent. Graduates must currently reside and have graduated from a school district within the Kane County Educational Service Region:
- District U-46 Elgin
- District 101 Batavia
- District 129 Aurora West
- District 131 Aurora East
- District 300 Dundee
- District 301 Central
- District 302 Kaneland
- District 303 St. Charles
- District 304 Geneva
Applicants must submit the below information for consideration. Please submit using the directions on the How to Apply page.
- Signed application form
- Class rank (if applicable)
- Verification of residence (determined by a current driver’s license or State of Illinois ID)
- A copy of ACT/SAT scores (Total score, Language score, Mathematics score)
- A list of extra/co-curricular activities and a description of community service experiences
- An essay on the topic “What are my challenges and how do I overcome them”
- Two letters of recommendation
